Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Last updated: May 2026. This policy applies to Impact Intelligence Lab and the CIIS platform (impactintelligencelab.com).
Who we are
Impact Intelligence Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”) builds and operates CIIS — the Collaborative Impact Intelligence System. We are an Australian organisation subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
For privacy enquiries, contact us at privacy@impactintelligencelab.com or use the contact form.
Information we collect
Contact form
When you submit an enquiry via our contact form, we collect your name, organisation, email address, and any message you choose to provide. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and to understand how CIIS may be relevant to your organisation.
Pilot and product use
If you engage in a pilot or guided demonstration, we may collect additional information relevant to scoping the session — such as your reporting context, outcome focus areas, and evidence sources. This is collected with your knowledge and for the purpose you provided it.
Automatically collected information
Our website may collect standard server logs and analytics data (such as page views, referral source, and browser type) for the purpose of improving site performance. We do not use cross-site tracking or build advertising profiles.
How we use your information
We use personal information only for the primary purpose for which it was collected:
- Responding to enquiries and pilot requests.
- Scoping and delivering agreed pilot or demonstration sessions.
- Improving the CIIS platform and this website.
- Communicating updates you have explicitly requested.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Disclosure to third parties
We use Formspree to process contact form submissions. Formspree acts as a data processor on our behalf and is subject to its own privacy policy. We may also use infrastructure providers (such as Render for hosting) who process data in accordance with their terms. We do not disclose personal information to any other third party unless required by law.
Data storage and security
Personal information is stored securely. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Contact form submissions are processed via Formspree and retained for as long as is necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry.
Where data is stored or processed outside Australia (for example via cloud infrastructure providers), we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives comparable protections to those required under the APPs.
Access and correction
You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, and to request correction of any inaccuracies. To make a request, contact us at privacy@impactintelligencelab.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with the APPs, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of this website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
